On Real Friends and Thank You’s
The idea of confessing your uttermost thoughts and feelings can be very intimidating at times.
Chances are, you will be misunderstood, judged, or rejected. Even worse, you could get laughed at. And I’m pretty sure nobody wants that.
Luckily, there are quite a few people who could really listen.
These people are truly present. They would give all ears and pay full attention to the things that takes up all your courage. They would make an effort in trying to understand the fragments that you yourself could not make sense of. They are sincere and genuine. They would choose to be brutally honest for reasons that are always out of love. They would accept you, all of you. Yes, no matter how miserably screwed up you are. You can put all your trust in them and be assured that they would would take very good care of the trust you invested.
It feels even greater to realize that for once, you need not to be pretentious. With such people, you are allowed to let go of all your inhibitions, take off your disguise, and lay naked, bare, and uncovered without feeling any tinge of guilt.
These are the people with whom you establish real connections with – the kind that would effortlessly allow you to be human.
So, thank you, awesome people, for always making me feel safe.
Thank you for your authenticity.
Thank you for reminding me that I am worth loving. and just beyond blessed.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. 🙂
